italian food


In this section i'll tell you about the famous italian food and specialities, but i'd like to give you first a general idea of the long italian culinary tradition...
every italian region has its tipical dishes, but for convenience i'll divide italy into three parts: sud, centre, north.
in the north italian people use to cook a lot of meat/game like cornmeal porridge with sausages especially in winter season and drink red wine. the dishes are very complicated and sometimes weight to digest, even if the italian cuisine in general is calorific and very tasty; then very famous are "piadina romagnola" in emilia romagna's region and "la bistecca alla fiorentina" in toscana's region;
if you go to the centre and visit rome, you can not lose the opportunity to taste "la carbonara" o "i bucatini all'amatriciana" that have bacon as basic ingredient;
anyway i definitely prefer the food of the south of italy: it's know for beautiful sea, sunny days and very good food of course...
a lot of these dishes are with seafood, but there is also abundance of fresh vegetables and fruits! then you have to know that pizza born here, in Napoli, a city of campania's region, but for pizza i'll dedicate a specific post with recipe like "tagliatelle alla bolognese", "lasagne" and other important italian specialities!
